After School Deputy Manager

Hours:              20 hours per week, 2.30pm to 6.30 pm.

Required for:   27th August 2024

Contract:         Permanent Role, term time plus Inset days

Salary:             Grade 5 – Scale point 13 to 15, approximate pro rata salary:

£15,076.59 to £15,543.79 (£30,495 to £31,440 full time equivalent)

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive deputy manager to join our team to run our new after school provision – POPS Kids. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with creative ideas and initiative to be involved in helping shape and direct the service provided.

 

Purley Oaks is a very happy and thriving primary school. Our children are a pleasure to teach. In our previous OfSTED inspection (September 2019), when we were graded as ‘Good’, the inspectors commented, ‘Staff expect all pupils to work hard and be on their best behaviour at all times. Pupils rise to these expectations.’ You would be joining a very supportive team and would receive good opportunities for professional development.

 

We are looking for a person who:

 

  • Has a minimum level 3 qualification in childcare or playwork or other relevant professional qualification.
  • Has at least 3 years’ experience of working with children in a play, childcare, out of school or school setting.
  • Will supervise and motivate staff in service delivery.
  • Will introduce and implement change, using initiative, and follow through to delivery.
  • Will involve children in shaping services and making decisions – responding to their views.
  • Would enjoy the challenge of working as a member of a team in a lively and supportive working environment.
  • Has experience of deputising, or acting in a management role, in a play, childcare, extended services or school setting is desirable.
  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Has a valid working visa/legal right to work in the UK
