Purley Oaks Section 8 Ofsted Inspection Report

Dear parents and carers,

As you are aware on 11th December 2018, Purley Oaks Primary School received a ‘Section 8’ short inspection from OfSTED. The purpose of a short inspection is to determine whether the school continues to provide a good or better standard of education and whether safeguarding is effective. In December 2014, the school was judged as ‘Good’.

As you can see from the attached letter from the lead inspector, the OfSTED team felt there is sufficient evidence of strong practice and improved performance of a good school, and it is reasonable to believe that the school may be judged outstanding if it received a full two-day inspection.

This is fantastic news for everybody involved with Purley Oaks Primary School and you will appreciate how thrilled we are to gain this recognition. We now expect OfSTED to return within two years and conduct a ‘Section 5’ inspection, which lasts for two days and may change the school’s grade.

I would like to thank all the children, staff and governors for their continued hard work and to all of you for your continued support, which has been invaluable.

 Yours sincerely,

 Mr R J Griffin

Headteacher
